Having been an amateur photographer for a number of years I’d toyed with the idea of creating a website to showcase my work. Finally decided the time was right so I took the plunge and this is where the fun and games began.
First things first a domain name, as I cannot abide such names like brianparryphotography.com then I had to get my thinking cap on and get creative. My brief was that it had to have some reference to me, reference to my passion and more importantly, available.
After much soul searching and WHOIS lookups I came up with a shortlist and canvassed opinions from my nearest and dearest. ShutteredDreams and NorthernAperture were candidates.
The former was available and was also free on all social media platforms but got discounted as I got to thinking I’d be mistaken for a window blind site.
The latter was also discounted due to not being available on all social media platforms.
Finally I came to NorthernLenz which seemed to fit my brief and after I mulled it over I bit the bullet.
Next came a logo, I knew I needed the name but also wanted to incorporate the lens and after a few iterations I came up with the following.
Now that is out of the way the site is well under construction, little content to see yet but beavering away to get the images ready to upload. Watch this space!
